Mini Note is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your notes are personal and should remain that way. This privacy policy explains how Mini Note handles your data (spoiler: we don't collect any).

Data Collection

We do not collect any data. Mini Note operates entirely on your device. Here's what that means:

• Your notes are stored locally in your browser's storage
• No data is sent to external servers
• No analytics or tracking scripts are used
• No personal information is collected
• No usage data is gathered

Data Storage

All your notes and settings are stored using Chrome's local storage API. This means:

• Data is stored on your device only
• You have full control over your data
• Clearing browser data will remove your notes
• We recommend regular backups using the export feature

Chrome Sync

If you enable Chrome Sync, your notes may sync across your devices through your Google account. This is handled entirely by Chrome and Google—Mini Note does not have access to or control over this process. Please refer to Google's privacy policy for information about Chrome Sync.

Permissions

Mini Note requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function:

• Storage: To save your notes locally on your device
• Tabs (optional): To enable the keyboard shortcut feature

We do not request access to your browsing history, personal data, or any other sensitive information.

Third Parties

Mini Note does not:

• Share data with third parties
• Use third-party analytics services
• Display advertisements
• Integrate with social media platforms
• Use cookies for tracking

Data Security

Since all data stays on your device, the security of your notes depends on your device's security. We recommend:

• Keeping your browser and operating system updated
• Using a strong device password
• Regularly backing up important notes using the export feature

Children's Privacy

Mini Note does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we don't collect data, there is no risk of children's data being stored or misused.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update this page and notify users through the extension's release notes. However, our commitment to not collecting user data will remain unchanged.

Open Source

Mini Note's code is available for review. You can inspect exactly what the extension does and verify that no data is being collected or transmitted.
